Stockholm Academic Forum – 17 universities and the City of Stockholm are happy to offer international students the Stockholm Student Arrival Service at Arlanda Airport on the two busiest arrival days before the start of the academic year.
Welcome to your new hometown!
On the 20th and 21st of August 2017, the Stockholm Student Arrival Service will welcome new international students at Arlanda Airport and help you navigate the final part of your journey, all the way to your university. This is our way of saying: Welcome to Stockholm! Welcome to your new hometown!
Please note: This service is provided by Stockholm Academic Forum. For university-specific information (for example: introduction activities), please check directly with your university, school, or program.
Meet our Welcoming Teams in the Arrival Halls
Our Welcoming Teams will be waiting for you in the arrival halls of Terminal 2 and Terminal 5 of Arlanda Airport between 09:00 am and 09:00 pm / 21:00 (local time). They will be wearing black caps and white tee-shirts so you can’t miss them. Go ahead, talk to them when you see them – they don’t bite and they’ll be expecting you!
Free Bus Transfer to Stockholm’s City Center (August 20 and 21)
If you arrive on the 20th or the 21st of August 20, you will be able to travel for free from Terminal 5 in Arlanda Airport to Stockholm’s city center and some of the university campuses. The bus ride will take approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
If you arrive in another terminal, take the free express train ‘Arlanda Express’ to get to Terminal 5. Our Welcoming Team in Terminal 2 will help you find your way. But remember to get off the train at Terminal 5! Otherwise, it will take you all the way to Stockholm and you will have to pay for the train ticket (about 30 euros + an extra fee for buying the ticket on board).
If you arrive on any other day, or outside of our service hours, you can check the Arlanda Airport website for transportation options to get to Stockholm’s city center:
