Arrival Service

Before the semester starts, and during the most busy arrival days, the universities and the City of Stockholm are organizing Stockholm Student Arrival Service at Arlanda Airport.

Welcome to your new hometown!

During the 20th and 21st of August 2017, Stockholm Student Arrival Service will be organized at Arlanda Airport to welcome all of Stockholm’s new international students. The service will help you to organize the final part of your journey to Stockholm and to your university. With this service, we – 17 universities and higher education institutions and the City of Stockholm – say: Welcome to your new hometown!

Please note: For university-specific information regarding for example introduction activities, we refer you to your new university or higher education institution.

Student Guides in the arrival halls

In the arrival halls in Terminal 5 and Terminal 2 at Arlanda Airport, you will meet our Student Guides. They will be waiting for you between 09.00 in the morning until 21.00 in the evening (local time). The guides will be wearing black caps and white t-shirts, so they will be easy to spot. When you see them, make sure to also approach hem. They are expecting you!

Free bus transfer to Stockholm’s city centre on August 20 and 21

During August 20 and 21 you can travel for free from Arlanda Airport’s Terminal 5 to Stockholm city centre and some of the university campuses. The bus ride will take approximately 30-45 minutes (depending on the traffic).

If you arrive to any other terminal, you can conveniently (and for free) take the airport express train ‘Arlanda Express’ between the terminals. The Student Guides on Terminal 2 will help you find your way. One very important thing to remember, however, is to get off the train at Terminal 5. If you don’t, you will be charged for both the rather expensive train ticket, and a surcharge for buying the ticket on board.

If you do not arrive on August 20 or 21

If you arrive on any other day than August 20 or 21, or if you arrive outside our service hours, Arlanda Airport’s ‘Directions to the airport’ website might be useful.
