Konstfack is the largest university college of arts, crafts and design in Sweden. The school was founded in 1844, and around 900 students are enrolled every year in our programmes and single-subject courses. Konstfack offers a three-year undergraduate level program leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a two-year graduate level programme leading to a Master in Fine Arts. We also offer a four and a half year teachers’ training programme leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Education, aimed at the Swedish school system. At Konstfack, we place great value on your aptitude for individual expression and your theoretical and practical professional skills.

The Bachelor’s programmes

At the three-year undergraduate level you can choose between seven different programmes, such as Graphic Design and Illustration, Industrial Design, Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, Ceramics and Glass, Fine Art, Textiles and Jewellery and Metal Design (Ädellab). The undergraduate programme is conducted in Swedish, but in certain cases, non-Swedish speaking students may participate for a limited period of time.

The Master’s programmes

Konstfack’s two-year graduate programme unites design, art, crafts, history, theory and criticism in a dialogue with studio- and practice-based work. The programme leads to a Master of Fine Arts and prepares you for both research and professional careers. The Master’s programme offers eight different disciplines: Art in the Public Realm, Ceramics and Glass, Experience Design, Formgiving Intelligence, InSpace, Jewellery + Corpus, Storytelling, and Textile in the Expanded Field. The Master’s programme is designed for students with a Bachelor’s degree, a professional degree with a minimum of 180 credits, or an equivalent foreign degree. A good command of spoken and written English is required.
