Study options

Education offered at universities in Sweden is according to European standard and compatible with similar university education in other European countries. This makes it easier to continue studies elsewhere or compare you Swedish degree with similar degrees in your home country.

Stockholm universities offer a variety of study fields on various levels:

  • Undergraduate studies
  • Master's studies
  • Doctoral studies
  • Contract training
  • Traineeships

The selection criteria for the various educational programmes and courses can be found on the websites of the individual universities and university colleges.

Stockholm Summer School
Stockholm Summer School offers five different courses during the summer of 2012 and is a joint venture between three universities in Stockholm: Karolinska Institutet, KTH Royal Institute of Technology and Stockholm University. Read more about Stockholm Summer School here.

Application and tuition fees for entry in 2011/2012
Application and tuition fees have been introduced for students from outside the EU/EEA area. The Swedish parliament passed a law outlining tuition and application fees for students from non-EU/EEA countries from the 2011/2012 academic year, to be supplemented by scholarship programs.
