Pubs and night-life
As Stockholm is the capital and only major city in Sweden, the night life is outstanding. Pubs, clubs and all-night cafés are scattered around town and there is always somewhere to enjoy the Stockholm night life. Stockholm's major clubs are concentrated around the city centre, but alternative clubs and music scenes can be found virtually everywhere.
As a student, you can choose whether you want to go down town and join the regular Stockholmers’ night out or hang out with other students at the student parties. The universities and university colleges, students' associations and student unions organise parties of different kinds. You will find everything from the students' association pub to large events with several stages, dance floors and pubs on the same premises. As an exchange student, you will soon identify your own favourites.
On the Stockholm University campus there is a weekly Wednesday pub, and on weekends there is often a pub on the same premises with current live music. The Royal Institute of Technology also has a student union building on its campus, with a pub on Thursdays and live music or thematic parties most weekends. Södertörn University College also organises Wednesday pubs on its campus as well as a more alternative pub, MusicForce, on the same day for those who prefer more alternative music.
