"The water and wild gardens, and snow!"

Eleanor Fenton from Australia is studying architecture at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. Eleanor’s first choice was actually to go to Canada, but for various reasons she ended up in Stockholm. She has no regrets. She is happy that she has the possibility to learn more about Scandinavian architecture, and she feels free to learn what she wants. The teaching style is friendly as well as informal. Eleanor finds that the most amazing thing about Stockholm is the water and the wild gardens.

– You feel that you suddenly end up in a forest although you’re in the middle of the city. It’s great to be able to go ice-skating outside your student room, and at the same time get a view of the forest and the lake while also having the highway in the background.

– A great advantage with Stockholm, at least for me who’s from Australia, is that you can easily travel to the rest of Europe. There are cheap flights and student discounts, and when you’re here, why not take the chance to see other parts of Europe?

Eleanor likes travelling and has just been to Kiruna in the northern part of Sweden. She visited the Ice Hotel in Jukkasjärvi. She also loves the snow in Stockholm, since this is not something she gets to experience in Australia.

– KTH looks like a gingerbread house with all the snow. It’s so beautiful!
