Thousands of housing units in Stockholm - just for students
We have around 8,000 student housing units of different types and sizes in the Greater Stockholm area. You can choose between a student room in a corridor, a one-roomed flat with a kitchenette, or a larger flat in town or in a nearby suburb.

It's free to be on our waiting list
It’s free to be on the waiting list, and you can join it from the age of 16. Putting yourself on the list as soon as you are 16 will increase your chances of getting exactly the type of accommodation you want. You will find more information about our waiting list on our website at www.sssb.se

Vacant housing
Vacant housing units are offered at www.sssb.se every week. On the website you can express an interest in renting units you like. You can also see how many other prospective tenants there are for each unit and how long they have been on the waiting list. This gives you an almost immediate means of assessing your chances of getting the unit you want.

Student room or apartment
Living in a room with a communal kitchen - a student room in a corridor - is a good way of getting into student life. You will be surrounded by others in the same situation. There will be lots of things going on around you and you be able to make new friends quickly. SSSB also has regular flats of different sizes; everything from one-room flats for single people up to larger family flats suitable for families and friends who want to share.

The students' housing company
Stiftelsen Stockholms Studentbostäder (SSSB) is Sweden's largest student housing company, letting about 8,000 student accommodation units. SSSB is a foundation and therefore has a financial sponsor rather than an owner, which is the Federation of Student Unions in Stockholm (SSCO). This means that as soon as you have registered at one of Stockholm's institutes of higher education and paid your student union fees, you become one of our “owners”. As a foundation, SSSB is not profit-driven. Instead, any money we make goes directly back into our operations.
